Windows XP takes about 3 minutes to load once I click my user name. My HDD has has errors happening because of a bad sector(s), causing it to eventually read in PIO mode. XP cant keep up with the latest protection technologies, its just to overwhelming for a old and antiquated OS & hardware. Anyways, just wanted to say thanks. have a peek here

It takes a longer time and it is advised not to run any applications in the computer including the screen savers, while running disk defragmentation. Changing this to DMR fixed my speed issues. I assume you have run Malware and virus sweepers and know you are clean as well.
